VIPASSANA MEDITATION FOR 10 DAYS!!

VIPASSANA MEDITATION FOR 10 DAYS!!
I am really feeling some kind of elation and jubilation within my body, mind and soul. It is knowing about the self or self esteem.. Yes, I should say, the Art of living. The 10 days Vipassana Meditation Coarse that initiated from 14-25 June 25, 2011 in Dhamma Sanga.Let me infrom you about the center or you can visit http://www.np.dhamma.org/shringa/home.htm
The Nepal Vipassana Center - Dharmashringa, is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, overlooking the Kathmandu valley, about 12 kilometer north of Kathmandu City. The Center's land covers nearly four acres and is bordered by a beutiful wildlife reserve. An abundant water supply nourishes the gardens, where flowers bloom throughout the year.

Various buildings serve for residences, ranging from dormitories to single rooms, two separate dining halls for men & women, and a few meditation halls. The center can comfortably accommodate about 250 people. Nepali-style vegetarian meals are served during courses.

A half-ring shaped building containing 84 meditation cells, is available for the old students, as well as a separate complex for long and special courses, complete with accommodations and meditation facilities.

Information about the Vipassana courses is available at the Vipassana City Office in Kathmandu. Course participants register in the City Office. On the day the course starts, a chartered bus takes them to the center.

Dharmashringa is situated at an approximate altitude of 5200 ft. During the summer months of April to September, the maximum temperature remains between 23°C to 32°C and the minimum temperature between 10°C to 16°C. During the winter months of October to March, the maximum temperature remains between 10°C to 16°C and the minimum temperature between 2°C to 5°C.

Two ten-day courses are held at Dharmashringa from 1st to 12th and 14th to 25th every month. However this schedule may be changed during the festival months of October/November. Courses begin in the evening of the first day and end in the morning of the 12th day.

Satipatthana courses for old students are held from 4th to 12th in the months of February, May, August and November. Schedules for 20 day, 30 day and other old student courses are decided at the beginning of every year.
I was not really aware about the course and the methodology but when I got there , it was awesome and magnificient.I was experiencing it for very first time. But it was very hard and difficult at the first time ,it was my first time and you know knowing about Vipassana and practicing it with the mass of people I got that I am in the real gurukul but when the instruction given to us for the first time about Anapana- practicing about the breathing in and out around the triangular part above our upper lips and and the nose area. We practiced it for continously for three consequent days. Though the coarse I found it very hard and hectic after relizing the truth I got to know about it very slowly that knowing about the self is the best Dhamma. During these 10 days meditation coarse we are not allowed to talk so that we have to keep silence which is known as Arya maun- Noble Silence. We have to go through the time table of the schedule that we have for our 10 days coarse. For the very first to second days it was very much complicated to keep the track my mind in the right and directed path but after three to four days I was used to it. When I thought about the camp it would be very much interesting and many pele with diffreent ideas and emotions so that we have our sentiments shared but the sexes division…oh…them I came to realize that we are here to adopt our life as a monk that should practice pancha sheela- five nobe path i.e. not to speak a lie, ….Yes, I like it very much because it is for the noble cause for ourself and for others as well which is Bhavatu Sabba Mangalan ( Be Happy).
As as I got to penetrate the inner part of myself knowing from the top head to the foot the feeling that we have feel initially was really itching. No matters what it is but after the discussion I just got some relief. By participating 10 days coarse is not enough to know about the true Dharma. It takes time. There is a Chinese Proverb that wihout the aid of religion we can not move. Well I am not religion bearing or a religion person but after taking the coarse I come to realize about the true religion or Dharma. It is secular one and not as a part of any dogma.
Getting into meditation about 12 to 13 hours and early rise , early around at 4 it was really beyond my mind but as stated rules are rules but it is also always popular the rules are made to be broken. But here in the Vipassana we have to run according to the rules that we have provided. Everthing that I got to know about was noble silence, practicing panchha sheela and so for 10 days. Can you imagine how it feels when you can not talk and even can not gesture or give any sorts of signs. It was unbelieable. But we did that for 10 days. The plce where we did our Vipassana Meditation coarse is in very peaceful environmental area.
Even the environment that we have favours us. Yes we eager to talk or share our ideas but it was prohibited but few of of us dare to talk. Sorry for not practicing the noble silence but in the days to come when I will join again definitely I will follow it true heartedly. The best part was evening discoarse classes were superb and mind blowing. The discoarse given by Sri Satya Narayan Goenka was truly practical and requirement for every now and then. The last was was really great that I felt tht I am now free and free to talk and I feel like soaring like a bird, it feels really great but for others may be it is not of their taste or not of their type but it will take time to understand it thoroughly. So be happy . I got to made many friends there and I really had jolly time as well and few of our Vipassana friend thought about making Vipassana Group in the popular social networking site- Facebook. Lets get connected and keep in touch. Last but not the least As always BE HAPPY!!!
